1st Victim

yesterday on my way home, I stopped @ Goodwill & picked up an arm chair that I am going to try & slip cover as my first project! Let me see if I can get a picture for you on this post.

some 13 years ago, when we moved into our house in Alabama, I TRIED to do some reupholstery. I had bought a white couch & a white loveseat. They matched & were the right size. Well, white was not a good color with 2 adults that work in a LANDFILL environment & 2 kids & a cat & then shortly a (short) dog. So I thought I would try to reupholster the couch. How hard can it be? Harder than I wanted it to be. And more dirty than I wanted. Fast forward to 2012 & I am flailing around trying to find yet ANOTHER hobby to keep me busy. It looks interesting. It looks challenging. It looks like it would be easier than actual re-upholstering. We shall see.

I bought 2 DVD's. One from Slipcovers by Shelly & the other by John French. I watched Shelly's last night. She breaks it down in easy to understand steps and she doesn't make it super difficult or PRECISE. It's not like a paper pattern or soemthing. She fits the individual chair/couch/item as she goes & she showed HOW to do it. I don't have the 2nd set of DVD's yet. I'll weigh in on those after I have read them.
